Aerial Silks: Aerial silks are a performance style in which acrobatics are performed while suspended from a silk fabric. RRPA has incorporated silks into three productions, and we will be bringing them back for "Big Fish".
Expectations: Actors who are interested in learning aerial silks will be responsible for taking 8 beginner level sessions at DivaFit studio in Herndon before tech week.
Classes: All students must take an introductory class to learn how to climb. After the instructor has approved the skills at the intro level, students may advance to the beginner level classes. After students have moved onto beginner level moves, they can drop into beginner class on Tuesdays at 6:30 or Fabric Theory at 7:45 (or other beginner classes as well).
At DivaFit the pricing is:
If students want to buy a session pass, it is $200 for 8 classes ($25 a class) and must be used within the 8 week session but can be used for any beginner class.
Private Lessons: Students can also sign up for private lessons and get a group rate if they want to coordinate with each other. With privates the instructor can more directly focus on sequences and choreography for the show while also building strength and stamina.
