COURSE DESCRIPTION: THEATRE 115
In this course, students will examine techniques and styles of performance. Students will intensify their study of theatre. It is highly recommended for students serious about pursuing theatre as a college major or minor and/or career. Great emphasis will be placed on developing one’s audition skills, and students will be expected to participate in a rigorous audition process as part of the course. Students will also have opportunities to perform realistic and absurdist scene studies in large and small groups. Additional emphasis will be placed on playwriting and directing. A culminating activity for units of this course could be a public performance of the scenes, sketches, or plays for classmates, elementary and middle school students, or the general public. |
