COURSE DESCRIPTION: THEATRE 201 & 299
This course is an analytical approach to the understanding and appreciation of theatre as an art form. The course is designed for both prospective theatre majors and non-theatre students who wish to improve their understanding of theatre, both historically and aesthetically. The course format is a lecture focusing on the significant contemporary plays in the theatre, with representative plays being studied. No acting is required for this class. ***Rock Ridge High School is the only high school in Loudoun County Public Schools to offer this course. It is worth 6 College Credits in Theatre, English, or Humanities through Richard Bland College of William & Mary. These credits transfer to schools across the country.
