What Happens at Festival?
PERFORMING AT FESTIVAL:
Performance: Attending the Virginia Thespian Festival is the next step towards your child's success in applying for colleges and universities. Additionally, we will be performing in the One Act Festival.

NATIONAL THESPYS:
There are also opportunities for your children to be individually adjudicated in the National Individual Events Showcase where students compete first at the state level and then at the national level for an opportunity to be seen in front of 3,000 people including colleges, professional companies and more. Students compete in anything from Performance to Technical to Theatre Education. Many students have expressed an interest in competing and I will follow up with students tomorrow.

COLLEGE AUDITIONS
Students will need 20 copies of their resumes and headshots for the College Auditions. Students who are in their Junior Year compete for Callbacks at college auditions. In the past year, our program has been awarded over $200,000 in scholarship monies at these festivals.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
2 Students will compete for $500 scholarships at the festival to a college of their choice as long as they are attending school for theatre.

WORKSHOPS
These workshops are critical for your child's resume, and networking purposes. Meeting colleges, professionals and other students in the field will not only solidify their networking for colleges, but will also add important educational experience that will only strengthen their resume.
